This course provides practical training in the core skills required in computer science research.
It is aimed at Master level students who want to pursue research in computer science.
By the end of the course the students should have improved their abilities in the practical aspects of research. They should:

Written coursework (Hausarbeit) at the end of the course.
Lectures with beamer, reading, written exercises, optional oral presentation.
This course will prepare students for their Master and Doctoral research projects, as well as their future research careers, by helping them avoid common pitfalls and improving their abilities in the practical aspects of research. At the end of the course the students should be able to write strong Ph.D applications which demonstrate that they understand the requirements of research and can present research ideas eloquently.
