Kurzfassung:

This is a seminar course in the broader field of distributed systems.

Lernziele:

Topics will cover the state of the art in the field of networked and distributed systems and change from year to year. The seminar course build on our elective courses and connects to the ongoing research of our group. It also serves as a stepping stone to prepare students for a master thesis with our research group. This course will

• bring knowledge of the state of the art in the field to students
• improve the skill in technical writing by (i) developing the student's awareness of the underlying structure of scientific and engineering research papers, (ii) improving skills in writing scientific research papers, (iii) improving proficiency in reviewing (through peer-reviewing each other work), and (iv) developing experience in presenting such papers in public.
