Blockchain is a decentralized, peer to peer network, which makes use of cryptography to securely host applications and store data, "where non-trusting members can interact with each other without a trusted intermediary in a verifiable manner" [Dann17]. The Blockchain technology has been already applied in various domains and plenty of add-ons have been suggested and integrated into Blockchain products aiming to comply with differing requirements. One possible related domain for Blockchain is Business Process Management, which is a central theme of this lecture. Robotic Process Automation (RPA) relies on software tools that partially or fully automate human activities that are manual, rule-based, and repetitive. RPA is an emerging form of business process automation, which also is a central theme of this lecture.

Written exam. To participate in the exam requires to complete practical exercises (homeworks).
Leading scientists and business experts give insights into the use of the Blockchain technology and Robotic Process Automation. The final programme of this lecture is available at: https://deich.pa.informatik.uni-kiel.de/vorlesungBlockchain/
To strengthen the knowledge acquired at each lecture there are practical exercises the students are supposed to complete outside the lecture.
Further literature will be annonunce in every lecture.
